Risk Management Specialist

For the first time we are looking for a Risk Manager to handle all insurance contracts and claims.

Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources and working under minimal direction . The Risk manager will be responsible for handling all general liability and worker’s compensation claims for multiple hotels.

What we will need from you

  • Manage insurance vendor relationship with the company.
  • Manage subrogation claims, including performing audits, negotiations and managing case until closed.
  • Field incoming phone calls and correspondence with insurance carriers, attorneys and other claimants.
  • Assist in the preparing of confidential legal documents, reports and correspondence.
  • Pull reports and analyze data as needed.
  • Keep abreast of, monitor, and analyze developing trends and changes in regulatory compliance laws, rules, regulations, and advises management of operational impact of such trends and changes.
  • Help promote a culture of risk awareness across portfolio through trainings and workshops with executive and other team members.
  • Assist with project management. Complete other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability

  • Knowledge of the safety rules and regulations mandated by federal and state laws
  • Knowledge of workers’ compensation claim procedures
  • Ability to develop and implement training programs
  • Ability to prepare reports and make appropriate recommendations
  • Ability to be flexible and work with a team
  • Ability to work independently with little direction
  • Ability to follow policy and perform to enhance professionalism in appearance and behavior
